Your Pre-Consultation Guide
Everything you should know before we come out to your home. It takes about 10 minutes to read.
Local Knoxville crew • Factory direct windows • Straight answersThank you for having us out.
Hey there,
Thank you for setting up a time with us. Before we show up I want you to know who is coming to your house and why we do things the way we do.
I grew up right here in East Tennessee. I started Tennessee Window and Door Works for a simple reason. People deserve a great window at a fair price. They should not have to sit through a three hour sales pitch to get one.
So we keep things lean. We do not run TV ads. We do not pay a franchise fee. We do not have a sales team chasing a big commission. We buy our windows straight from the family that builds them in Indiana. Then we pass that savings on to you.
When we come out we will measure your home and put a real window in your hands. Then we will give you one written price. That price does not change if you want time to think about it.
If you pick us I promise we will treat your home like it is our own. We will show up on time. We will do what we say. And we will leave your house cleaner than we found it.
Thank you for trusting us with your time.

Signs it is time for new windows
Check off any that sound like your home:
- You feel a draft near your windows on cold or windy days
- You see fog or moisture between the panes of glass
- Your windows stick, will not stay open or are hard to lock
- Some rooms are always hotter or colder than the rest
- Your power bills keep going up
- You see soft wood, peeling paint or water stains around the frame
- You hear a lot of outside noise with the windows shut
- Your windows are 15 to 20 years old or more
- You plan to sell soon and want your home to look and show its best
Checked even one or two? Show us when we come out and we will take a look.
Small problems that add up
Most window problems are quiet. You get used to them. But they cost you a little every month.
- Higher power bills
The U.S. Department of Energy says heat gain and heat loss through windows cause 25 to 30 percent of home heating and cooling energy use. - Hot and cold rooms
Old seals and worn frames let outside air in. That one room is always too hot in July or too cold in January. - Fog between the glass
When the seal fails moisture gets between the panes. That cloudy look never wipes off and the window has lost its insulation. - Outside noise
Gaps around the frame and old single seal glass let in traffic, mowers and the neighbor’s AC unit. - Water and rot
A bad seal or a poor install lets water in around the frame. It often goes unseen until the wood is soft. - Hard to open and hard to lock
Windows that stick or will not stay up are a pain. Windows that do not lock tight are a safety problem.

4Home Guard Innovations
Our windows are built by Home Guard Industries. They are a family owned company in Grabill, Indiana. They have been building doors and windows for over 40 years. Home Guard calls their work Amish craftsmanship. That means precision and pride in every detail.
We have been to the plant. We walked the line and trained with the people who build these windows. And because we buy direct there is no middleman in your price.
Tennessee Window and Door Works is a certified Home Guard dealer for both the Innovations and HomeStar lines.
What is inside an Innovations window
- Cardinal insulated glass, made by one of the top glass makers in the country
- Virgin vinyl that is never recycled, so it will not yellow or turn brittle
- Fusion welded corners so the frame is one solid piece
- Insulated frame instead of a hollow one
- Triple weather stripping on the sash
- A magnetic bottom seal that pulls shut like a fridge door
- Tilt in sashes so you can clean the outside from inside
- FlexScreen standard. It pops in and out and will not bend
Lifetime limited warranty
It covers the vinyl, the moving parts and the sealed glass. It even covers accidental glass breakage for as long as you own and live in your home. We bring the full warranty to your visit and go over it with you.
Need a lower price point?
Home Guard also builds HomeStar. It still has Cardinal glass and welded frames. It is a smart pick for a tight budget or a rental. We will tell you straight which one fits.
